The first one is a Croton and the second a Japanese Aralea, as they call this type of Fatsia over here.

No, don't put it outside in the winter, you'll loose it. Fine to put it out in the summer though, give it some shade.

 Hmmm I don't think the first is a Coleus I think it looks more like a Croton plant... I would wait till Spring, after the frosts have gone to plant the Fatsia out now as it is too late & cold for this year... It may not survive too well in your shed either if it gets too cold.. The shock would probably kill it now.. Just find somewhere else in the house for it at the moment, then come Spring plant it in a sunny but sheltered from winds spot......:)

Sorry, Marley, I made a mistake and corrected it about the time you posted.

    Yes, Croton not Coleus.

Yes, Marley, 4 Crotons. Two yellowy ones and 2 reddish with the narrow leaves. None of them particually nice though. The kids have some gorgeous ones in their Florida garden.

Natty, sorry that we have hijacked your thread. :o

:D Well Kedi I di have another there but I ripped that one out as it was in the way & not very nice at all.. Will get a pic of my red one though next trip as that has taken a reasonable shape now since & have had a snip... :hehe: They are nicer as a smaller houseplant I think.. Not one of my favourites out there I do have to say... Other much nicer shrubs... :dh: Yes sorry Natty for hijacking your thread..
