    Sorry, Purple sprouting broccoli.

Usually plant it in the summer for a spring crop, it didn't bother till the year after that up there.

My courgettes have a few small ones on about 4 inches. I picked a couple the night for dinner only because the ones I have left on in the past few weeks have gone rotten.

My courcettes are a mystery ?
They were from seed early Mar, potted on and placed in cold greenhouse, strong plants but no flowers, I planed them outside June, lots of flowers and then just starting to fruit, when rain drowned them all, up until July
So I uplifted them and planted them in the ground in the green house, after two weeks
strong plants and really strong flowers, only next morning the stem is cut clean through and flower missing ?
Not slugs as I have pellets surrounding the plants, and no birds as greenhouse is shut up, and I have not seen the two little girls sporting bright yellow flowers in their hair

The mate I used to work with who gave me them, said, oh dead easy, and guarantee pick three fruits a week of each of them no problem :-)

I've had about half a dozen small ones so far, but that's over a period of several weeks. I'm not especially impressed to be honest, but then it it has been a bit of a poor year I think.

          I'd be suspicious.

Two tiny ones today. I planted out far too early this year and the plant was really knocked back and for a while I thought it was a gonner but over the past couple of weeks it has started to put on some decent growth.

I only picked only 5 courgettes yesterday off over a dozen plants (which are a fraction of their normal size for this time of year) that went straight into a meal when normally we'd be picking a carrier bag full every other day and our vegetable rack would be stuffed full of them. It's now the 2nd week of August and there's only been one yellow cougette so far. Squashes and outdoor cucumbers also very slow and pumpkins were in reverse gear until a few days ago. Marrows (trailing) are however doing extremely well.

Looking back at pics taken last year for some sort of comparison I found some taken on 27 & 29th July 2011 which makes me think that this years crop is only around a quarter of what I'd usually be getting.

EDIT: Google courgette glut 2011 and you'll find that this time last year lots of people had so many they didn't know what to do with them.

Getting a few courgettes but nothing's happening with the butternut squash. Anyone else having any luck with them?
