Thanks westwales. I know potential employers aren't supposed to discriminate, but unfortunately they do, albeit that they can hide behind other reasons.

I don't intend to mention it at interview - if I do tell them it will be later on.

Job hunting is going slowly - people are on summer holidays at the moment, so not the best time to look :dunno:

I've just spoken to my union rep and he's attending the consultation meeting with me on Thursday. At least I'll have him on my side, regardless of whether anything comes of it.

Yes, I understand about the discrimination concern. I agree if you're not asked don't mention it but if you are asked (usually on an anonymous form) you should say but certainly when you're offered a post I would say tell them after you've accepted as you may want to have their understanding if you find adjusting to change difficult.

I work with admissions and many of our students need adjustments, we usually suggest that they write a short description of how the Aspergers works for them, I say works because there are at least as many positive aspects as difficulties. It's usually an effective way of gaining understanding as well as introducing yourself to the new environment.

Best of luck with the job hunting.

Well I've got my meeting with HR, my boss and my union rep today. Feeling a bit sick/nervous about it all.

Oh Merle I am so sorry to hear this sad news my heart goes out to you.

Very naughty of them sending you an email to go to Portsmouth .

I am sure you could put in a claim.

Re morgage I am sure you can get help if out of work so you dont pay a penelty.

        Check with your morgage provider.

But as 1 door closes another opens be positive.

        Wishing you good luck .

Thanks all. Meeting went okay, we gave them something to think about and they have to go and do some research and then come back to us at the next meeting in a couple of weeks. Have cleared the air a bit with my boss so feel better about it.

Had another redundancy consultation meeting today. My union rep chucked around the words "gender related discrimination" and "tribunal" and "compromise agreement". It's all very wearing. I just want to leave, have a job to go to and move on with my life :wallbanging:

Ah well, at least I'll have some time to sort the garden out while I'm out of work.

Been for a few interviews, today's was a second interview but don't think I got it as it was a lot harder than the first interview.

            Onward and upward :)
