I have never collected seed from my passionflower; the little perisher sprouts up shoots all over the place! :heehee: When I moved house 2 years ago, I didn't bring my passionflower with me. But, the cheeky blighter *followed* me; a shoot appeared in a tub which I'd brought with me the next Spring  So, I pulled it out and relocated it at the rear of my garden. It is now merrily climbing up a huge Poplar and creeping along the rear fence. Up popped another shoot this Spring, so I pulled it up and stuck it in the ground between two plum trees (which sadly had outlived their best). It's growing well.

Hence, why you won't *need* to collect seed. But, if you wish to, wait for the flower to produce fruit (orange, oval shaped fruit), the seeds will develop in there :)

    Hi James

Why do you want the seeds as they are so easy from cuttings.

So it must of produced a fruit ?? .

When the fruit is overripe squeeze into a fine sieve and wash under the tap air dry the seeds for at least 24 hours . put into a small plastic bag and keep in the fridge until next spring about late march early April plant into seed compost and if you have a heated propergator put them into that they should be up in two weeks.
Pot up singly when about 2 inches high and have produced their first true leaves

You can some varieties, but I think you have common passionflower (same as mine) and I don't eat mine - tried once, not nice.

Hi spruce no sorry it hasnt yet produced fruit, the reason i want seed is so i can move it around to diffferent placess and train its growth in diff areas of our property. But if i can attain same results with cuttings im more than willing to give it a try how would i go about ddoing that??

This is what I do. Take about 6 inches from a new shoot pinch the top out remove the bottom leaves so you just have about 3 or 4 leaves left near the top and put the stem into about two inches of water into a glass , and put on the windowsill, when you have lots of roots pot up into a 9cm pot . (plant out next spring when the frosts are over)

I tried for ages with compost & plastic bag over the top always failed with me I went round to my mates Magi's who has not got green fingers and she had about 4 at different stages on her kitchen windowsill as I described above..

    Hope this helps
