Why don't you go into a place like B&Q and ask someone? There is bound to be someone who can advise you what you need :-)

Never known anyone in B&Q know anything about the products other than where the barcode was & has it got the same batch number.

Have a good look on youtube, you can see them working, it is very helpful. I have been trying to find the best one for me this week.

Have a look at The Viking 370 (think Viking is an offshoot of Stihl but not sure). It's petrol and easy to move about as has wheels. I got this when we lost an enormous Beech tree last year in the gales. The shredder coped with all small branches and leaves and made a good job. It worked non stop for about 2 weeks and I have a great pile of weed suppressor material now. I'm not an expert on shredders but my 1 has tackled both soft and hard material well, doesn't perhaps do quite as thick branches as it claimed would do but not complaining.

I know it's not petrol, but I bought this Bosch AXT 2200 shredder at a fantastic price and can't fault it so far. A great machine that handles everything I need at a sensible cost for the garden.

I had a look at a few different petrol shredders, all of them were better than anything electric. However none of them would guarantee shredding soft material without clogging, which is what I wanted them to do.
The best electric shredder is the Bosch one with an Archemedes type screw blade.
