I was on holiday recently in Norway , beautifull country and thought id mention that i visited the Arboretum & Botanical Gardens at Milde.
Its free and easy to access by bus or cab , it highly recommend it to people on here should you find yourself in that part of the world!

Oh wow, I've never been there before, do you happen to have any pictures?
I love garden visits, I usually take one if there is something nearby when I'm on holiday.
What kind of flowers are there? :)

I've never been here aswell, i've always wanted to go to somewhere like this, it's always interesting to find a new and exciting garden that you can relax in.

Theres a great range from interesting trees , they also have some great heathers , empetrum heather especially took my fancy , they also have some great varieties of rose in a dedecated rose section.
Choose your time of year though for visiting as the norwegian climate can be quite harsh , although i think they are open year round.

Good idea. I have only really been on visits to Japanese themed gardens because that's a large contributor to my interest in garden, but I am always open to new ideas :)

Ive always found its good to visit gardens while on holiday , you get to experience more exotic plants in the locations which they come from , helps you to better plan your garden what works where and how it can all look. Im 21 soon id like a holiday soon to somewhere i can see new plant varieties.

Oh wow, that must be exciting! You thinking of going all out and spending a lot? Making it luxury as a celebration? Or are you thinking more budget?

Well I know that there are garden themed cruises, if that takes your interest at all? There are loads of different places they go to and I am pretty sure they even go to the one in Norway you've been to.

I understand if it's not for you but if it is, http://www.cruise.co.uk have just released their 2013 itinerary. Might be worth a look?

It takes about 24 hours to get to Norway (Bergen) by ship. Other half and I celebrated our silver wedding anniversary there thirteen years ago and took our car with us. We drove all the way up to Trondheim and cruised back down. It's a beautiful country and driving there is a pleasure. :)

Although I haven't been there for a very long time, the Tivoli Gardens in Denmark are probably worth a visit.
