PC - if electricity was gone for good, we could always go back to open/real fires.

Got no electric in the caravan, sort of got used to it. Got candles, gas cooker, barbeque.

I'd miss GC if I didn't have any leccy at all though.

PC and the internet for sure.
Although we have a generator that can power essentials. (freezer/fridge/cooker)

The problem with losing electricity is that it effects nearly all aspects of modern day life..........it would be going back to the dark middle ages:dunno::snork:

Got a generator + propane appliances for when the electric goes off or going away, mobile broadband dongle for when the landline hub cuts out and a woodpile outside the back door.

If the electricity went off this minute it would be the Sausage Casserole I've just put in the oven.

I wouldnt miss a thing. It would be a fressh start for everyone, no debt etc excuse me mr smith you owe us this much money....erm no i dont check your computer records.....oh wait you cant looks like i owe you nothing.....life would go back to simplicity! I know im not that old but i remember a time when our whole lives werent dependant upon electrical ggizmo's and people like my grandad earnt a living fixing proper tv's and washi.g machines when they werent only dessignedd to last 5 minutes. i usedd to love the damp morning when the tv would sligghtly crackle with static and lassy. Making a toy out of a cardboard box.!!

Make the most of your leisure time, because all that would vanish if we had no electric.

Farmers would have to work 7 days a week, every hour of daylight again, as no power means no means of pumping oil or producing diesel to fuel the machinery so no more ploughing/seeding/harvesting 100 acres per day. No more computers showing you satellite images of your land so you know the optimum time to harvest, so lower yields per acre. All this means food goes back to being very expensive so ordinary folk go back to having to be geniuses at the art thrift.

But worse. Worst of all. Almost unimaginable. I can barely bring myself to mention it. How would you keep your beer cool without power to work your fridge?
