            Well I am now officially jobless. Had my final consultation meeting today at work and have been sent home on gardening leave. Still no news about the other job - am hoping that everything happens quickly cos I don't like not having a job!

              Dear Merle,
              I have only just "discovered" this thread. I was meant to go and get dinner started but I couldn't break off could I? It has been as though I was reading a novel. Iv'e felt all the angst, support ,frustration and sorrow through these grand GC members Merle. And to read the last few posts has made me so very happy for you. Enjoy this temporary break - precious as it is. From here on, a new chapter in life to experience.
              I can go and get dinner now. Something really good has just happened,

                  I've been through it twice Merleworld.
                  Consider alternative areas. My original Specialty was very limiting.
                  My last job and the current one are like Chalk & Cheese, both from each other and the original Specialty.
                  In 10 years I've gone from 4 walls & no windows working alone on Reference Standards to dashing hither & thither doing direct distribution to small retailers.
                  In between I was up to my neck in games.
                  All very different but individually challenging.
                  Think out of the box and you may surprise yourself. Interviews were not involved - just use of a few contacts and the opportunities appeared.

                  Good Luck for a rapid new opportunity.
