It's a good job is wasn't a very busy road. Apparently it's a regular occurrence.

 

See, I was almost exactly right. Having realised that they couldn't get enough elevation on their catapult trajectory to reach Britain from France without having an impractically tall catapult, they had a rethink and decided to take to the air to drop garlic bulbs on us from a height.

 

They were very proud of these in the local château.

 

I think they're called trebuchet's, I've played a game on the internet with these.

 

You're quite right, they are trebuchets. The château demonstrates them by firing water filled balls at the château.
