I have just started digging a bed in my present garden for roses, I haven't had roses for twenty years and miss them. Although I can't create a list at the moment, one of the first I will be investing in is 'Kings Ransome', a rose recently shown on GC by Armandii. :)

I'm fairly new to roses, but the ones I have are the nicest I've seen ...

          Teasing Georgia
          Lady of Shalott
          Lady Emma Hamilton
          Jude the Obscure
          Gertrude Jekyll
          Sceptre'd Isle
          Princess Alexandra of Kent
          Mutabilis

This unnamed patio rose which I bought from B&Q and which was supposed to be a Double Delight (but I am doubly delighted it wasn't because I love the scent and shape of the blooms). It's just a shame it doesn't appear to be repeat flowering :dunno:

I do have a few other roses, but they wouldn't be my favourites.

I have space for one more potential favourite and I think it's going to either be the new Royal Jubilee from David Austin, or else a nice buttermilk cream one which I am searching for ideas on.

In no particular order - but the rose that has performed best for me with the minimum of grief has been Felicia.....

            Felicia
            Gertrude Jekyll

Mmmmmmm, there are so many great roses out there that a Top Ten list seems a bit small!!! But here's some of the one's in my garden so I guess they'd be on my Top Ten list. I do usually only have scented repeat flowering roses whether they're Climbing, Shrub, T roses, or Patio, but I forgive some and get them anyway.

I love all roses so my top ten changes frequently with the exception of this one,for what it represents, what it stands for and what the rose world owes to its existence,it will always be No 1 for me:)

Hi Woo, Masquerade was bought dry root for 10/- from a Supermarket called FineFare, which became Gateway, which became Asda, which has been bought by Walmark but still retains the name, nearly 30 years ago........so I've had good value out of it.:snork: I think it's a brilliant rose where you can have different colours of flowers in one spray due to the flower changing colour, from yellow to red, as it gets older. It's also a real favourite of mine for all that.........and for sentimental reasons as well.:hapydancsmil:

This one's for you, Woo. It shows Masquerade with good intense colours.

It has given me much pleasure looking at it year after year, I must admit.:snork:
