Better start making my Christmas cake then. Then It can have plenty of soaking with the good old grog ! Saw a recipe as well for chocolate brownies- put half the mix in the baking pan, layer some After Eights and cover with remaining cake mix. :stirpot::wow:

Sometime over christmas we will have two lap-tops running side by side on skype. My son on one in America, my daughter on the other in Canada. Could be interesting. :)

With Skype you can have three way,or more, meetings on one computer (split screen) but it think that is with their subscription service. :)

I think that's very good :dbgrtmb: but our family work quite hard at having get-togethers throughout the year as well. It's become traditional, not only for immediate family, but for cousins as well. My father was one of 10 children and we see most of our cousins a few times a year. We are now the 'older generation' :old: and some can't drive anymore, so we arrange to go quite a distance out of our way to pick them up (the mobile cousins work it out between them).

We try to use almost any excuse to meet up. When we have our Open Garden a load of them come on the Sunday (this year there were four generations in one of the families ).

Sixty years ago it was dead easy as all the family lived in London but we're all dispersed around the country nowadays. So it's much harder to keep the tradition going - but we work at it.

We could actually do it that way Shiney, but our connection with Skype to America tends to break up a lot, so we use Windows Messenger instead. We also have the reverse problem with Canada, so two computers have to be used. :)

We just have the freebie Skype which allows video between 2 sites but, if there are more connected, it's only sound.

We've never had any problem connecting to other countries but I suppose it's because we're on the 'mainland'. :heehee:

Tough to get motivated this year I'm afraid, last year I was sorting out Dads funeral, this year I would just like to hide away ( so my moods don't affect others), yes I know that's not the right attitude to have, and believe me I constantly tell myself this, unfortunately my moods tend to win over my common sense, I am hoping somewhere along the line I will get a good kick where it is needed :th scifD36:, OH however is virtually done
