Did I buy myself a 'Friday afternoon' mower four years ago. I have a petrol Hayter that I bought new and I hate it. It's so temperamental when starting, or not as the case usually is! It's been serviced and checked over those four year, but still it doesn't like starting especially after it's warmed up. I wish I'd stuck with a Honda.

Sheal, I'll pass on your comment to Hayter. They're just down the road from me (3 miles). On second thoughts - why don't you write to them and, as the mower is obviously faulty, ask them to come out and fix it :heehee:. They've been owned by an American company for a long time and they don't know much about the geography of our tiny country. ;)

"Two great nations ..." and all that.

The Americans think that 200 years is a long time, and the Brits think that 200 miles is a long way!

Thanks Shiney, but I really can't be bothered with all the hassle that will come from contacting them. It had to be serviced by the dealer here while under guarantee and I spoke to them about the issue more than once, but they don't seem to be able to come up with anything. The guarantee has expired and I will take it to my usual mower servicer at the beginning of next season and see if they can shed any light on the issue. if not I will ditch it in a couple of years and get myself another Honda. :)
