I've only heard the Imperial adverts on the local radio FC, no idea if they are any good.

The grand Picasso is a persons carrier which I don't really want tbh John. Either an estate or saloon. I took a Renault megane scenic out before my c4 and it was possibly the worst car I've ever driven. (Sorry, not offending scenic drivers or the likers of the cars)

Thanks Clueless, I realise that, I was just using the air bag 'thing' to put emphasis on the braking. :)

I'm with you al - for the hell of it, I looked at a Zafira the other night, and to me it felt like I would be just giving up on any remaining pleasure in owning a car, and that pipe and slippers would follow close behind....

My sister once had a car where the horn automatically went off with anything more than the most gentle braking. It was embarrassing once being in it in town when she had to do a three point turn and the horn beeped at the passers-by every time she braked.

Our car, a VW Fox, was an unwanted raffle prize, it was sold as second hand with just delivery miles on the clock.

Thanks God we live in a world where we can afford to nearly give away unwanted new cars...presumably we don't starve.

Its like the John Bishop joke FC , when you buy a people carrier its the car equivalent of corduroy trousers :snork: see sketch below, 40 seconds in ...
For the record I went from an Alfa Romeo Sportswagon to a Ford C-max.. and I love them both ! It was driving the Zafira in France which got me thinking people carriers.
I used to buy from BCA ( British car auctions) or Motorpoint which is a true car supermarket . Tend to keep my cars 5 to 7 years i.e better the devil you know

Thanks mate - its a hell of a lot of money, but to be honest I am fed up buying cars at nearly 100k on the clock only to pay them off and have to start again; equally, I don't want to end up with something just because I need it (Zafira) rather than something I actually want to own (if that makes sense?)

Its a one owner car, 2009 reg, full service history, and has done 65k; Its not the sporty version (S-Line, which is drop dead gorgeous), but then as I am kicking the bum off being 40 I think my boy-racer days are over, so comfort is more important to me than a low ride height and pretty looks.

The dealer seems really genuine (so far), and the deal that is on the table equates to £5 a week more than I am paying now, so not heartbreaking. So, fingers crossed that the bank say yes and let me do it, and that it is as good as it looks in the pictures. It does seem to be really clean:

                  I notice its Audi.

Check it has indicators, most Audis and BMWs dont. Also check it has a variable throttle, as most Audis and BMWs have on/off type throttles, and check the steering carefully, because they have a tendency to drift from one lane to another without any warning or apparent reason.

Well, I bought my car from Fords of Winsford, too far from you FC, [Nothing to with Fords itself] and they have a huge site with around 2000 cars of every type and make. They only deal in low mileage and quality cars and the prices are really down to the bone....but they will give you a low price for your car, but don't they all?. The service is really good and they won't release a car until it's checked and serviced. I bought a Ford Cmax Ghia with 7,700 miles on the clock, and when it was due to be picked up they rang me up to apologies that the car would not be ready. It had a tow bar on it and when checking the car they found the wiring to the towing bar wasn't up to British standards and they were going to take it off plus the rear bumper section and put a new rear section on without charge to me. The car also had a personalised number plate and had to be re-registered with a new number. They paid for the re-registering and also for the Car Tax, and six months insurance. I will go back there for another car when it's time.:snork:

Fair comment! I assure you that I am a professionally qualified driver, and am of the old school where courtesy counts for more than simply getting there as fast as possible. Maybe I might just start a different trend, where Audi drivers are known for being courteous to others???? :dunno:
