yes I did wonder that after I'd posted it. doesn't make any sense what I typed, does it? :oopss: blonde moment. :heehee:

I hate buses. I'm indifferent about the drivers. Most seem pleasant enough, though my experiences are limited as we live in the countryside and until we had a bus stop made, they chose to ignore our village, even though we're on a main road. I remember getting a bus time table through my door years ago, stating that they don't stop here! Gee, thanks for telling me. :heehee:

I hate the way buses are dirty, poorly maintained, smell of old people and diesel, are germ factories, are never on time and are full of scum (I've been on Yarmouth buses). Public transport in my area is shockingly bad and expensive. I admit SOME bus drivers do seem to think they own the road and have no consideration for other drivers, just like a lot of car drivers do. But a bus is a damn sight bigger with more potential for damage & injury. I always give them a wide berth. I'm guessing you have a better class of bus/driver in Middlesex.

from my experience, cops are tossers. they just want any excuse to fine you & get more money out of you. if you phone them for help, they dont give a moo poo. my neighbour was shooting with his kids (they had guns) on his land, but less than 20yrds from our row of houses. my kids were playing outside & had the sense to come indoors when they saw him. we know for a fact he cant hit the broad side of a barn, but did the police bother to come out? No! now he is due in court for several offences, including threatening his ex wife & her new bloke & CHILD with a shotgun.

Surely, if FC was turning right out of those gates, then the restrictions on entering a box junction wouldn't apply since " ... you may enter the box and wait when you want to turn right".

As for the keep clear being " .... there purely so that vehicles exiting the garage are not left either waiting years for traffic to let them out ....." I suspect the true purpose of the Keep Clear sign (which is used on roads where consistent obstruction problems occur and other waiting restrictions are not in force) is to allow free entry and egress for buses (which naturally require a larger turning circles) rather than the convenience of private motorists - albeit ones which may work on the premises.

Much as it pains me, I think technically Mr. Plod was probably right in this instance, but at the same time, it does smack of 'nothing better to do'.

You can not enter a box junction except when you want to turn right, and the only thing stopping you from doing so is oncoming traffic.

But in any case, FC's junction wasn't a box junction, so its a different set of rules.

Must admit to not using buses much, but I'm lucky enough to be able to drive and afford to run a car.
If I had to use a bus because that was not possible, would I be considered scum?
And I'm just wondering what exactly "old people" smell like.

quite possibly. I think I am, too.

just to clarify, by scum I mean junkies, drug dealers, petty criminals, slags, lazy people who choose to make unemployment their life-long profession, kids smoking on the streets at 10yrs old etc etc. you get the idea. A lot of them choose to live in Yarmouth :lunapic 130165696578242 5: If you've ever been there, you'll know what I'm talking about. Thankfully I only go there to shop at Asda, cos the prices are cheap cos its a scummy area!

Our house is tiny compared to some, although no more than we need, but our daughter still refers to that Catherine Tate sketch every time we take her to B&M Bargains on the way to her horse riding lessons.
