CHIPS........., and more chips. You can use it for making pickled eggs, though I prefer white vinegar. Cider vinegar and honey is supposed to be good for you waistline. I use Balsamic for my salads. As you say, too many vinegar' s, so little time.

i don't use vinegar on chips. i find the balsamic and malt too strong and "invasive" compaired to the taste of the salad...

I know the feeling,I have White wine but other recipes require Cider,Red Wine or Sherry vinegar.I haven't got a clue what difference it makes.

Vinegar & Brown paper is an old headache cure, it would have been Cider Vinegar.

But they do drink vinegar in Orthodox churches religion at Easter. On Good Friday, when Jesus asked for water and was given vinegar, so it is done by Orthodox followers. I never have vinegar put on my fish and chips from the chippie, I find it makes them even soggier. So I ask the chippie to wrap them loosely, and put the condiments on when I get home. :hapydancsmil:

When I was little, I used to walk to the F and C shop on Friday night with my big sis to collect supper for the 4 of us. My treat was a greaseproof paper cone of crispy batter bits with vinegar poured over them. Bite the nose of the cone off, suck out the hot vinegar then eat the batter bits on the way back home,
a serious treat that I still vividly remember,
            Jenny
