I've just read through some more of the replies and there are more on there than I remember.
I feel quite upset now. I just wanted to warn people & mostly they've insinuated that all my kids drink is coke making me a bad mother & me doing this for compensation!! Most of them think its a bloody joke! I'm glad I didnt post pics of her for them to take the out of!

Only 2 or 3 people have posted in support of me & one of them is our Clueless!

I rarely go on mse these days because this has happened to me before. I've posted to warn people of something, or for advice and mostly I've got ridicule & mild abuse.

right now I want to post on there and tell them to go f themselves!!! :cry3:

I've just told off goater98 on MSE Forums because quite frankly, he/she is a buffoon and needs to be told. I have nowt against buffoons, as long as they are either sensitive to other people's feelings, or are not trying to dress up their mindless drivel as fact.

I'll probably get kicked off that forum now, but that's ok. I only joined it to tell off the insensitive people anyway, and I've done that now.

I don't know how much you like/dislike my post but: when you pass a complaint, all that counts is evidence. In telling you objectively how we see it, we just anticipate what the COLA company may insinuate.

For instance, I once complained about a cherry stone found in a yoghourt, but the complaint was dismissed because they said a warning on the package said it may contain stones. Which to me doesn't really make it acceptable if my child chokes on it or I break my tooth and costs me hundred of pounds to replace it.

Some may think that your kids have a nice glass of coke before bedtime every evening, some may think that: it was the only glass in years and for a darn set of coincidence it all went pear shape. Let them think that!

I am not a perfect mother by any point of view and I am yet to meet a perfect one...but I am sure that your kids prefer you to many others!

I was just thinking along the same lines. Over nearly 40 years, I've never had a glass randomly break in my mouth, and I've drank from plenty of glasses. I've never seen it happen to any of my mates either. That means, drinking glasses are in my opinion, generally safe.

I've drank half way though a glass of beer before noticing the glass is chipped or even badly cracked. Easy enough to happen in a pub environment, yet still the glass has held its integrity and not fallen apart in my mouth.

The difference here is that none of these glasses were the ones like in this case. You can see in the pic that the glass is too thin, and given that many of us will never have seen a glass randomly fall apart in someone's mouth, how can it not be a design/manufacturing issue with this particular glass?

RR, hope your daughter doesn't suffer with this incident.

She is a gorgeous gal (obviously taking after her mother) but is she really entering high school at age 11 these days? I had just taken my 11+ and was going into Secondary having left private Catholic schools ... :hate-shocked:

Hope all turns out well. xx

RR, me back again ... how come on the one photo there is a cut lip with no cuts on the cheeks and on the next it's cuts on the cheeks with no lip cut? NOT disputing anything, just have my old legal hat on and wondering ...

as far as the cut on the lips is concerned it seem to me it is on the inside so you wouldn't see it unless you show it.

Mira, I was actually referring to showing the cut lip and cut cheeks at the same time whereas I see each of them independently of each other.

yes, I thought it was strange myself. The cheek cuts appeared later, but they must have been made by the glass. weird. I have no explaination for that.

We have just changed from a 3 tier school system to 2 tier. Heather was in the first age group of kids that stayed at Primary till 11yrs old, then straight up to high school. It does seem weird her going to high school now, when her siblings didn't start there till 13.

Thanks, I will be more careful how I word my complaint letter to coke uk. and thanks for your kind words.

I think Heather was less affected by it than me, tbh. Ok, so she's sticking to her plastic cup for now, but I bet it won't last. Now all the coke glasses are gone & all that's left are thicker glasses, I'm sure she'll got back to using any old glass thats within reach. She even said to me last night "I'm glad that glass broke on me, cos I didnt want anyone else to get hurt". bless!

I'm rather PMT atm and I'm not in a good place with my depression right now (hubby snoring like a hippo in heat & depriving me of my sleep doesnt help!), so that's why I'm letting the b****ds get to me. Sorry.
