Well, I went to visit an old Abbey called Abaty glyn y Groes just outside Llangollen, which isn't all that far from me, on another cloudy grey day but it stayed dry at least. I forgot my tripod and flash so took everything in natural light.:snork:

      The Abbey from afar.

I believe the Monks used to wash in this trough before dining......it would make a cracking planter.

There was no info on this trough so I've no idea what it was used for ......but another cracking planter.

In this little Cottage in the Abbey grounds was Videos about the history of the Abbey.

I think I'll go back there when there's snow and mist around to see what it looks like.

Thank you so much for a wonderful guided tour there Armandii. Lovely peaceful views of a magnificent structure. The things built in the name of religion - whatever the faith - are always special I think,

It did have an air of serenity, Jenny, I must admit. It must have been a hard life though with no real heating and lots of hard work to making a living.:snork:

If the second trough is not for horses, then it could be a coffin.

I was thinking that, Ziggy, but there were signs of graves outside the Abby and it looked pretty big for a coffin.:dunno::snork:

Went up the hill to the Pine tree belt at work today and got a big surprise. The Shaggy Parasols are out in force this year.
Most I've ever seen at one time. The recent mild, wet weather obviously suits them.

How are the little fairies going to keep dry, if you have picked them all. Oberon will have your guts for garters. :th scifD36:

I went for a walk along the lanes in Cheshire this afternoon just as the Sun was disappearing behind the mounting clouds. I was looking for colour but, to be honest, didn't find as much as I had hoped for.

I was hoping to find some real reds and oranges but I couldn't find any, although I did see some on my way from from Wales last week.

Looks like an enjoyable walk Armandii.
The colours look pretty good to me, especially like the way you've captured the contrast between the silver bark and the golden leaves on the Birch trees. :blue thumb:
