I would like to change my avatar but I do not have anything in mind ... and do not want to use one that I have previously used. Can you help out by submitting ideas (photos) and taking into account that, if I shrink the subject of the picture, this could be much less discernible.

all done -my new nickname is Java&Me, not the easiest one to type in, but I wanted something to do with computers + an easily flowing name ... i also came up with "springandstrings" but the "string" connection with computers was less clear...

How did you change your user name to Java&Me? I wouldn't mind changing mine but I don't know how to do it!

I second Mandys suggestion, to prevent confusion. I still find it confusing if nothing changes :chicken:

I think Java might have been around for a lot longer than computers:)

I don't think anyone ever does really. Every generation believes they invented it, but the basic principles have remained the same for millions of years.

A lesser known fact is that 'ME' can also be linked tenuously to computers. There was a version of Microsoft Windows called Windows ME, short for Millennium Edition. It was based on Windows 98 and it was a total flop, quickly swept under the carpet by MS themselves as they chose to conceal the failure by hyping up their forthcoming release of Windows XP.
