With gardening pretty much at a halt I've got myself a project for the winter months. Having spotted a local advert on Friday, bought on Saturday for £60 and delivered yesterday, I'm about to restore an Edwardian bureau and will self teach in the process as I do with all things.

It's scruffy and some of the woodwork/veneer inlay needs attention but I reckon I can achieve what is necessary to bring it 'back to life'. If not I'll be sending it down to Zigs for firewood. :heehee:

Does anyone else have something different to occupy themselves with this winter?

I am setting up 2 new aquariums in my kitchen. At the moment I am trying to choose what colour backgrounds to have. That Edwardian bureau sounds good!!

I'm seriously contemplating making a quilt that I've had my eye on for more than 20 years (I don't like to rush things :heehee:)

Back then, I couldn't afford the fabric; then, I couldn't afford the time. Now, I think I may be able to stretch to both :)

that sounds like a great idea, wish I had the time for that. I am working on a cross stitch map of England with lots of different sheep around the outside and four years on I still have a lot to do

I've got an Amish style quilt top that I must have started in the early 80s. It's been in a drawer since then awaiting backing and quilting. Hope I get it done in time to pass on as an heirloom to my ungrateful neices and nephews.
Perhaps I should organise some quilting bees.

This winter I'll be grateful if i can get out into the pottery shed and get some serious work completed.

Years since I've cross-stitched Pootle. I admire you for even *thinking* of stitching a map of England :love30:

I have a list of to-do-projects as long as America ... but luckily I accept my limitations.

Lol! I bought a mosaic mirror kit about 3 years ago, I have been tempted to do it every since. Perhaps, this is the year for it! :heehee:

Every year I intend to create a 'book' covering a topic where I have tons of photos to support short texts of memories. I had a go at using 'Blurb' but lost my way a bit. So today I have started over using 'Albelli'. Has anyone else done this?
