    Hi Aesculus,
I wrote to Kakteen-Haage some years ago, as I had read a book by Walther Haage, years ago. The current owner is his great,great.... grandson. He used to send me their catalogue I still have them some lovely pictures. Please let my know how you fair with them, if I can afford it I might give them a try...

Sirius very keen then! I do have lots of hobbies, it depends on the time of year? Winter indoor stuff like electronics and model making (Working on a Micro-controlled propagating frame for the Window sill, to take 2 standard seed trays).

I'll keep you informed Cactusface :)

I don't know how I'll receive the plants... I hope as unrooted cuttings as I do better with those ;) I've already got someone who wants cuttings once my plants are big enough and I haven't even received them yet :snork: I also took the oppotunity to order two rarely available epi cultivars in the UK 'Shimmer' (Everylyn Shiraki, 2005. Inner petals dark reddish-orange with a medium magenta edge. Outer petals red. Overlapping, cup and saucer form. Flat thick growth. (L). (Pink Plumes X Elinor Victoria Latimer). Reg. #12725.) and 'Jutta Paetz' which is a beautiful peachy orange cultivar with a flower shape which resembles the pink 'Deutsche Kaiserin' or Epiphyllum phyllanthoides

When I worked on a nursery up in the hills of Japan we had permafrost during the winter. It lifted the concrete aprons under the greenhouse doors [big double ones you cold drive a tractor through] jambing them shut and we had to pile-in through the windows instead!

The traditional Japanese wooden house I had my digs in wasn't very thermally efficient! and I used to put the butter in the fridge in my room because it was easier to spread in the morning than if I left it out!
