Happy Last Day everybody

I continue to wonder at the importance that is attached to Mayan prophecies considering that it seemed to be a civilization that was totally impotent regarding its own demise.
Poisoning its own water supply to assuage the gods with the bodies resulting from human sacrifice is the actions of a society - that notwithstanding its knowledge of engineering and astronomy etc was - at its core - completely nuts.
