what to plant

Hi everyone. Are there any veggies I can plant now or am I too late. Outside, not greenhouse. Thanks

 

Broad beans is a great thing to sow now. Plant the garlic around them!

 

Managed to get some spring cabbage and some cauliflower. Put some garlic in today.Will look out for beans.

 

Total novice alert !!

How is garlic grown ? can I just whack some cloves in the ground ? or do I need to look for specialist growing varieties ?

I also have a small bare patch that is crying out for some content.

Broad beans interest me as I can't get enough of eating them. Would these be ok in containers, as I am waiting to dig over my plot, but would like to get some beans planted.

 

I bought my garlic from the garden centre, divided it into cloves and planted it (tells you how deep etc. on packet)

And how about onions if you have room, same as above ( bought from garden centre etc.)

 

I read you can use supermarket garlic. Its cheaper unless you want a specific variety. I planted some yesterday,cost me 30p and got 12 cloves from it. Got 2 different onion sets today and some leeks. I only started my veg patch this week so a bit trial and error at the moment.

 

You can have success with supermarket garlic too, i had this year!:thumb:
