Jump starting

    Hi
    Is it ok to jump start a ride on mower from a car battery ? My mate seems to think it's not a good idea.

    Don't do it, reason: car batteries are 12v - your mower will be 6volt.

    Thanks for that John. I take it I could jump one mower from another then? The problem is I have a very old ride on stuck in a shed at the far end of the property, I can't remove the battery to charge it as someone has soldered the leads to the terminals, I just want to get it running and back to the main building, then I can sort it out.

    Yes - jump start from one mower to another would do the job. You know that you need to keep the good mower running whilst jump starting, to give a decent boost.
