Evergreen perennials

Hi,i was looking for some suggestions on these after looking at how colourless my garden looks this winter i thought i would ask you all for recommendations for some,i only seem to have bamboo,shasta daisy,bottlebrush,holly and ceanothus that have foliage really,i do have perennials in but not evergreen.
I know i cant put a large amount in place because of bulbs,daylillies etc but ideas welcome so i can at least consider my options or move things round thanks x

O i lie,hebe and mahonia i have,i think i was thinking about a mahonia for near the pond

 

I think Armandii's covered just about everything there Joolz. I've got Choisya 'Sundance' in a dark corner of my garden and it's amazing how it brightens up the area.

 

Is that a osmanthus birkwoodii armandii(white flowers)?ive just been to ebay and there is also heterophylilus which has similar leaf to holly

 

Sheal,i have just the spot for one of them(lovely shade)..next to daz's new shed filling a hedge gap and could be a good wind breaker thank you x

Armandii left out Holly too - some nice variegated ones, and I now he loves the prickly fox one (Ilex ferox argentea). Lovely variegated weeping one too called something like Perry's Silver Weeping Holly. Probably break the bank to buy one :( The Hollies you could topiary if you fancy that? Makes a nice statement in all seasons then.

Variegated Euonymous too, if you like that type of thing.

Armandii left out Clematis armandii too ... maybe 'coz its the black sheep of his family?!

Fatsia if you want something with large leaves? Variegated ones available too, also a Spiders Web which has a speckled pattern on the leaves. I like it, but some think the plant just looks ill ...

 

What about red barked dogwood. Not evergreen but adds a splash of colour.

Choisya Aztec Pearl is a lovely one too wouldn't be without mine , i grow a scrambling clematis through mine to give a bit of colour in summer too, agree with Armandii osmanthus is a great shrub that scent mmmmmm.

 

Good suggestion! Several other nice Dogwood bark colours too
