    Hello!

I took on a very overgrown and bramble infested plot in November and have been busy clearing it (when the weather's allowed it) since. Still digging out blasted bramble roots and clearing litter/broken glass and bindweed roots... but am starting to think about which seeds to start sowing indoors (as a way of keeping myself motivated!). It's all very exciting.

I thought I'd introduce myself now... as no doubt I'll be pestering you all soon for much needed advice.

    Cheers :)

:sign0016: Owl I am sure you will find lots of info here for you to get started on your project. Sounds as if you have undertaken quite a task with all that bracken etc. - Well done for sticking at it.

Hi Owl! I'm a newbie too & I ve inherited a garden with large veg beds which have been taken over by brambles & bindweed. I liberally sprayed ground clear in Sept so can't sow anything until March / April.

First thing I'm going to grow is green manure to put a bit of life back in the soil. I then plan to grow the usual runner beans, cabbage, broccoli, carrots etc and also butternut squash.

I'm also going to use one of the beds to grow annual flowers for cut flowers & to attract bees & insects.

Good luck with your plot look forward to seeing your updates!
