Don't have much room for any larger plants/containers in my garden, so I thought I'd go for some 'littlies' instead to fill in gaps in the front border or plant in smaller pots or troughs.

    I have bought :

    Saxifraga 'Peach Melba'
    Leucanthemum 'Sunshine Peach'
    Lewisia longipetala 'Little Peach'
Sedum 'Vera Jameson' for the bees [IMG]

I was obviously going for the peach theme :snork:

I've been trying to be good (despite having many £'s worth of gift vouchers for Hill House from christmas), but I was tipped off about a seller on fleabay that was worth looking at.
In amongst the offerings were 3x Desfontainia spinosa for £8.99 plus p&p. So for about £15 (what one was costing elsewhere) I have three to experiment with!

Probably not as large as a dearer one, but very well rooted (as in roots growing out the bottom of the pots) and new growth on all three.
        I'm happy!

This is what I'm aiming for (photo taken at the Jungle at Heligan Gardens a couple of years ago)...............

I bought 2 Chamerops humilis var cerifera on the weekend.
Still quite small, but for £10 each, I couldn't say no.

Well so much for having space issues

In addition to the alpines, I have bought four clematis (which is fine cos they don't take up ground space) and a Rosa Queen Elizabeth (dunno where the hell that's going), all of which were cheap as chips.

I just wish Rhododendrons weren't so expensive (well probably a good thing or I'd have even more). I've just bought a R. Hotei and R. Tortoiseshell Champagne which will be going in containers:wub2:
