Potatoes in a bucket?

    Iv'e got three red duke of york and three duke of york in grow bags which have been cut in half and stood up on edge in the greenhouse.Taking a chance to see what I get:) .Iv'e got a fleece over them to protect them from the frost:blue thumb:

    I grew Red Duke of York last year.....very nice:dbgrtmb: only snag was they needed peeling ,couldn't just rub the skin off...but worth it:thumbsup:

    I've got all my seed taties chitting away at the moment. I will be growing them in bags so do you think it will be ok to start a few this wknd in bags in my greenhouse?

    I would, however greenhouse may not be warm enough. I would start them off in a cool part of the house somewhere. They won't be through the compost for a couple of weeks, and a warmer temperature will start them off more quickly, and they won't rot or be eaten! Once they have some green poking through you can move them to the greenhouse. (Must be kept frost-free though.)

    Cheers Kirsten ive got a unheated porch at the front of the house were I start my seeds off ill chuck a sack in their.
