ive been waiting for a month to get one of my brick pillars at the side of the drive re-built, nothing big, just mended, about a half days work. the guy was supposed to turn up last fri, didnt, then monday and didnt. phoned yest to sah was delayed on another job which i know is untrue. phoned this morn to say he'll be there tomo, then phoned again 5 mins later to say another job has come in so be there fri or sat????!!! wtf???

i really, really am a bit treetree'd off with him, so i'm playing this in 2 ways now.

either wait for him to turn up on fri and say to him to do one, or if he turns up sat, he'll find the house, gates and garage locked up so he cant do it anyway, then wait for a phone call off him and then tell him to do one.
tbh, i feel like giving him a clout i'm so angry. grrrrr. no wonder the influx of foreign labourers are taking the jobs of ours.

I would just get someone else. If he's that disinterested he probably won't do a proper job and you'll end up needing it doing again in a couple years time.

I can feel your frustration, al.

Glad you've chosen to give the work to someone else!

Sounds like a tradesperson who probably didn't want that job, but still said yes thinking they'd do it - if and when they'd nothing better to do. Much better they just tell you that straight off. I respect tradespersons who just come out and say "too small, too difficult, not the sort of work I'm interested in, etc.
