Had our first win in 40 years last week. Spent a good bit of the 25 quid in petrol taking the cheque to the bank :cry3:

Actually I've just remembered I have a good piece of Blackthorn under the stairs. That's supposed to be lucky. I'll have to get it out.

A few years ago a mate of mine was going through a very dark phase in his life. He'd lost his job, his girlfriend had tried to poison him, and he'd upset the wrong kind of people. I gave him a lump of Blackthorn for his protection. He asked 'protection from what?' thinking I meant it as a weapon. I told him no, its not to hit people with, its for protection from bad things.

Within a few weeks he'd landed himself a contract that paid extremely well (more than £300 per day) and now, a couple of years on, he's happy and doing well.

Of course the stick did nothing. It was just a stick, but in his delicate state of mind he believed the stick was magic, and because he believed it, it was, and it did its job. He sorted his life out.

Though I should point out that while my mate's one was just a stick, I can see from Zig's photo that that stick really is a magic stick.
