    I'm in Lincolnshire and have a dozen or so in flower at the moment and lots of buds ready to burst, not often they flower the same time as snowdrops!!!!!,they're much better than last year when I hardly had any flowers.

    [quote="HarryS,
    PS - I found a bag of Tulip bulbs I bought last November , will they be OK to plant out this November if kept in a cool dark garage ?[/quote]

    I would plant them out as soon as the soil is workable and not wait until November. They certainly will be happier in soil and getting rain than in the garage for more months. Will they then bloom in 2014?, have to wait and see. Hopefully they are in a dry airy bag now.

      Well that's it then ... just about a week away from a flower ... nice and proud for a good show ... now flattened by snow ... suppose I can cut the worst of them for a vase ...

        Mine have been open since St Davids Day , but they are called February Gold so normally the 1st ones to flower , and I do have others I always check roughly when they bloom before I buy so I have them spread over a couple of weeks , snowdrops still in full flower so the cold is helping them to last longer than normal , Tulips are all staying put I can see about 1 inch of green so until it warms up nothing will happen

              most of our daffs are out now but the wind & rain has been wreaking havoc on them the last few days, we've no snow here but torrential rain and the wind is quite scary tbh! we've been inspecting them each morning and bringing in all the broken ones to put in a vase in the kitchen, at least they're not being wasted i suppose:gaah:
