I've bought some Vitax Liquid Growmore for my plants but I wouldn't use anywhere near the amount the suggested mix is on the back 2 capfuls (30ml) to 8 litre's of water! how long do you think a made-up mix would last? I'm guessing not very long

its a question I have always wanted to know the answer to :)

I wonder what, if anything?, it is going to denature into? I'm figuring that a mix of inorganic compounds is just going to sit there without changing? But I don't know that ... and would like to :)

As its derived chemically, could there be changes as a result of oxidising?

    Hi Aesculus
    1 Teaspoon = 6ml
    Which is a 1/5 measure
1/5 of 8 litres is 1.6 litres or 3 pints
I would use a plastic milk bottle , which has litre or pint graduations on the side. Fill with 3 pints of water stick a teaspoon of Vitax in , shake it and off you go :dbgrtmb:
Remove the label from the milk carton and write on VITAX.
The 30ml to 8 litre measure is one watering can. ( I have had this conversation in a past post  )
As Growmore is a purely chemical fertiliser ,and you are just diluting a liquid fertiliser from one solution strength to another solution strength , I don't think it can deteriorate.

You could email the company and ask them Aesculus. :)

Could only find the health & safety sheet for the pellets, says it only degrades under intense heat.

I would agree with Kristen and others. They are simple chemicals and I doubt that they will degrade much.

If you track the ph, you`ll notice something is taking advantage of the free banquet :)
It`ll keep better if its sealed, kept cool and out of the light.
The easiest option is to use 1ml of fertilizer per 266ml of water, using a 10ml syringe from the chemist
