    AH AH AH
A local restaurant (and it doesn't even look like one of the cheapest) has a huge and I mean HUGE billboard in prime position displaying restaurant name and a few more info about food etc. and just at the second line there is a clearly misspelled "restaurant" word!!!!!

Should I let them know saving them from ridiculous or not?

If you don't eat at the restaurant - then 'Yes'. :heehee:

I always tell people if they have misspelled any signs or made a mistake with the grammar. They don't always appreciate being told but I don't care! :snork: (I don't think it's correct to do so with GC spellings :) as we're chatting and not advertising :blue thumb:)

Then, of course, there is what is known as the "greengrocer's apostrophe". Which is the incorrect of the apostrophe. It's very acceptable on greengrocers' signs as it has become an art form.

Other types of misuse aren't necessarily desirable. :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Frankly, I wouldn't bother. There's a shop which opened up in our village over a year ago - along with it's photocopying and/or printing and binding service, it also offers to proof read your publication then, in large letters along the bottom of it's window it also tells the world that it's open .....

        "Monday's to Friday's 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday's 8 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. Closed Sunday's"
I'm not the only one who has pointed out this error, nor am I the only one to receive the reply 'What's the matter with it?' :thud:

When I took this photo I think they, possibly, had an excuse for the wrong spelling :)

If you're not joking - there shouldn't be any apostrophes in the days. Plurals don't have apostrophes. The apostrophe is used to denote that it's possessive showing that it belongs to someone or something, such as "that was Val's post". Or the apostrophe is there to show that a letter has been left out, as in "What's the matter with it?"

We all make spelling, and grammar, mistakes but they definitely shouldn't be overlooked when advertising something.

Fidgetsmum made a spelling mistake (sorry Fidgetsmum :love30::)) simply due to typing fast and, like most of us when posting on here, not bothering to check the spelling. That's totally unimportant in a social situation but not in a business one.

I noticed the apostrophes, but they are always used wrongly these days. Surely is should be "that was Vals' post" ? with the apostrophe after the last letter.

                        Val
