As you mostly are aware tomorrow the server was due to be moved tomorrow am.

However a situation arose which required work to be performed on the old server, seeing how we would be moving it seemed more prudent to just relocate a few hours early.

The move had to be performed on the fly (due to server issue at old server), so we lost the last 30 minutes of posts, sadly this was unavoidable.

now we are located at our temp domain of gardenerscorner.net, in 3 days time we will be back on the normal domain, for now the old domain redirects to this one to avoid downtime :)

for next 3 days tapatalk may or may not work, as its dns propagation is slower, however we have a mobile responsive skin which is very nice, and automatically applies when viewing phone from tablet or mobile device.

how you will know when .co.uk is live is when you type in the url it will load directly (not redirect to .net), within 3 days we will all be back on .co.uk :)

That was scary, I couldn't find you for nearly 2 whole hours. I didn't know what to do with myself! I'm glad I thought to check facebook, very helpful.

RR: If people post links to other threads (i.e. with gardenerscorner.NET domain name in the URL) is that likely to be a problem once the site is back on .CO.UK domain name?

Clicking on some links to .CO.UK seem to work OK (redirecting to .NET and preserving the query-string), but I have had trouble with some others - although I don't know if they worked properly before of course!. Just a heads up in case it will be a problem once migrated back to .CO.UK as they will be permanently embedded in posts with the .NET domain name presumably.

                  This worked:
                  http://gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/threads/square-vs-round-pots.50075/#post-650848
                  This didn't:
                  http://gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/general-gardening-discussion/30717-daffodil-bulbs.html
but the URL style is different, so could be that its from the old-style site. It redirects to
                  http://gardenerscorner.net/forum//threads/30798/
which then shows error (there's a double "//" in there). If I hand-correct that then this URL finds the post OK:
                  http://gardenerscorner.net/forum/threads/daffodil-bulbs.30798/

the .net will redirect to .co.uk when move finished, so urls will work :)

and old urls work again too, those from out vb days:)

Glad I only got frustrated for an hour or so and then thought of Face book. Well done Richard.
