Had some beautiful weather here in Staffordshire today

So managed to jet wash off as much of the decking as was possible. The bits of varnish that are still there are def not coming off!

Hopefully tomorrow PM will Ronseal it - have left it over night to dry, and in the forecast sunshine tomorrow.

Have also finished the pagoda and varnished it to match. Looks lovely :hapydancsmil: Will take a piccy tomorrow. Have brought some Clematis to go in the tubs on either side. How quickly does Clematis grow?

On Sunday hubby will hopefully help me create some nice curved borders - I can't dig the lawn up myself, not strong enough! Any tips on how to make this easier?

Have also ordered my little girl's wendy house which will sit on top of this decking. Can then get going on some potted plants to go around the edges and maybe some mini under-window boxes.

There's lots of movement in the borders - some interesting little plants popping up now the weather has finally broken. Will be interesting to see what they all are as I can't remember from last summer when we moved in as we spent it all indoors decorating!

I'm in the middle of digging out a new bed in my lawn, sorry there's no easy way of doing it, it's backbreaking work so I do an hour or so every day. Regarding the curves, you can use a rope, washing line or sprinkle sand to get the curve shapes you want. :)

      Hi

Well the decking has been finished now and the wendy house is coming on Tuesday, can't wait!

Have done some more tidying in the garden and there are some interesting things popping up.One of the huge plants has just come in bloom and smells gorgeous. Its a red currant tree according to google and I love it!The Rhodendrums are about to bloom too.

Unfortunately I think the Photina is def not going to make it! :( What do I do with it now? Do I cut it back to the root in the hope it may still be alive? I've already cut it back a third and the leaves turned brown and are dropping off.

Want to carry on tidying stuff up, but I haven't a clue about the following - could anyone tell me whether these are weeds or nice plants please? If they aren't weeds, what are they? Thank you
