As a result of rust, one of the battery terminals has broken. All I need to do to fix it is solder a bit of stiff wire to the circuit board, but can I get in to it! can I ***lox.
Has anyone tried the same, if so what's the dodge??

No, its broken off. However I have had some success in getting at the circuit board but you have to get brutal. Knife under the front flange at the top breaks the plastic seal, then go around breaking the rest of the seal. Then when you're done with the solder etc, you get out the araldite to reseal the front - electrical tape then should secure it against the crap weather we seem to be having. Thanks for the interest.

        No worries :)

One suggestion though - instead of electrical tape, use self-amalgamating tape, which has no adhesive to fail and will form a sort of rubber jacket around the outside
