    Hey Marley,

Mixed feelings about snow. I know what you mean about the "snowy silence." Brings out some primordial feeling there, fantastic.

Just don't like loosing money though. We were working at North Nibley one year on a 200 year old temple folly. When the snow came, I couldn't get out of my road, as it was on a hill. The other lads made it to the M5, but couldn't get to the site once they got off the motorway. They got paid for the day as they' got that far. I didn't

The kids sledge down Burrow hill down here, no wire fence at the bottom to kill yourself with.

You can probably see a picture of it if you google burrow hill cider/somerset cider brandy.

    :santa:

I love the snow - providing I don't have to do anything sensible like try to get to work. A long walk in the snow, stopping off at a pub is neither sensible nor strenuous.

I also would prefer snow to all this rain we're having, especially when it comes to the chickens. Trudging up the garden in rain, mud and dampness is no fun - it's somehow easier in snow, once a path has been cleared of course, even though their drinker freezes and they refuse to come out, preferring to sit inside their house, grumbling.

No, it wasn't that Marley. It was a tall single storey building set in some gardens that were on the side of a hill. I remember riding the dumper truck & being worried that it would tip over.

    Lots of rhodedendrons.

It was about 1995/6, done a lot of buildings since then & can't recall the name of the place.

Oh, I do remember finding a mummified mole in the roof space, but that wont help its location.

You can use anything you like, ziggy. Just treat them like photos and embed them exactly the same way.

Up until today, I owned two of the UK's largest pedestrian snow blowers.

Sadly they are now both sold, with one having gone to Scotland and the other to Latvia.

I never even got to play with them, but realistically a snow blower that can shoot snow up to 30m isn't ever going to be of much use in the South East.

I'm with Aaron on this one. Snow is OK if you don't have to get to work or to an essential appointment. Also, I seem to have particularly rubbish balance on snow and ice and always end up on my backside.
