Gardens to visit in Dorest

    Well people, the title says it all really,

    i'll be off on my holidays to Dorest next week and i was just wondering if anyone has any advice on good places to visit while i'm away?

    Looking forward to your responses- i know i can really on you all.

    There's Abbotsbury Sub Tropical, Mapperton & Forde Abbey at my end, strongylodon probably can tell you more about the eastern side of the county.

    Whereabouts you heading? :)

      Useful thread. I'm spending a few days in Dorset in September.

        Gardens this end may be some distance form the Dorch/Bridport area but there are
        Knoll (as mentioned) known for grasses etc,

        Compton Acres ( Poole) Italian garden and unusual shrubs.

        Bennets Water gardens (Weymouth) water Lily ponds and 'Monet' settings (small and expensive).

            I hope you have a great time in my home county
            I believe there is a new leaflet out with all address and details of horticultural nurserieS and gardens in the Dorset area... I no that the leaflet is available at the tourism office at Wimborne but not sure where else as yet.... Literally just been published
