Hi it's just me again but this time onions.... I bought some onion sets from the market (which were firm when I bought them). I planted them in my raised bed about 6-8 weeks ago but I had a look at a few today and they are all squishy and thin as if there is no onion there. I have attached a photo. Does anyone know where I went wrong? Also if my onions are a lost cause can I eat the green leaves to get some use from them, they smell just like spring onions?? image.jpg

I think you were probably a bit late planting, But, they go like that when they first start growing.
If the leaves are green and the plants appear to be growing, I'd leave them to get on with it, and keep them watered.

Hi Pete yes I was a bit late with everything as it took longer than expected to build my raised bed but I just stuck everything in and am hoping for the best! I'll keep them in and see how they go, maybe they will surprise me. Thanks for the advice, it's good to hear that they go like that when they first start growing as I thought they were dying
