Hi, I was just about to go to dobbies and buy a soluble lawn weed killer and a moss killer. (Pre lawn restoration) I went to the shed and just found a few packet of "evergreen complete soluble lawn care" Which is essentially a weed, moss and feed.
My question is this, about 2 weeks ago I gave the lawn a light feeding with straight pellet feed. I just did it by hand and put it on fairly light.

Question is, to save money, can I use this evergreen stuff I have found to kill the weeds and moss (gets great reviews) or will it over nitrogen the soil and kill the grass? Do you think i should be OK? Its getting overseeded anyway in a month.

I went for it. Not sure I got perfect coverage as my watering can rose was a bit coarse. But we shall see. Plan on raking and overseeding in a month. There is a LOT of weeds (probably 70%) so I may need to hit it again as I dont think scarifying will remove live weeds will it? No point over seeding if its stil 40% weeds :dunno:

Hi Callum, well, depending on the kind of soil and drainage you have in the garden you can over :snork:feed grass with Nitrogen and make the growth very lush and soft which might sound nice but in fact will weaken the grass. I garden on a very sandy soil which is fast draining and regarded as a hungry soil.and so fertilisers are quickly leached out. Other soils can retain nutrients a lot better and so you can over feed if you're not careful.
