That's the thing that makes it worse for me Sheal - there is no way that anyone would be carrying paint stripper or brake fluid around at night unless they were intending on using it for no good; it can't even be classed as an 'opportunistic' thing - its premeditated from start to finish.

Jack McHammocklashing - I'm chuffed that your insurer has come good, and as its an insurance backed repair you are more likely to get the spray job that the car deserves; don't get me wrong, I have seen some of the smaller bodyshops turn out cracking jobs, but I have also seen some shockers (orange peel effect free of charge, if you know what I mean)

I am just so pleased my car is not scrapped, I saved for it for years as my retirement present
My Skoda Fabia SE VRS is my posh persons Merc,
The insurance is really just a loan up front at 1000% as they will get it all back from me, I really hate insurance companies, just wish I knew how to invest in them

However I WILL sleep better tonight

      Thanks ALL

          Oh my god that's horrible.
I'd be absolutely fuming. And losing your no claims too?! It's just not right is it!
Finding a low mileage VRS will be hard. All the diesels tend to have high mileage.
Our Fabia VRS is on 164,000 miles.
I'd be devastated if someone did this to any of my cars.
So sorry for you, hope its sorted.
