Hi all, I quite liked the look of this pretty blue flower but couldn't put a name to it. Any ideas?

It's a Scabious I think. A very petty wild flower. I grow the Gigantic version which has a similar[IMG]

shaped flower but as you can see a pale yellow. Great herbaceous plant for adding height to a border and it doesn't need staking, a job I hate.

Blue one is a Scabious as said. The yellow one is actually not a Scabious, but a Cephalaria, a near relative.
I grow a small version of the Scabious. Scabiosa columbiana and another one very similar called S. graminifolia. Both have typical Scabious flowers, but only grow to about 12 inches in height.

Thanks , I was thinking it might be that just after I posted.

A beautiful flower Silu. A Cephalaria, sounds interesting.

I've been thinking about planting scabious japonica seeds this month. 'Ritz blue' from Suttons seeds. Might be worth a try.
