Checkout the comments here http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/ebay.co.uk.html I haven't been able to get on for ages. I pity those poor sellers who's items are ending whilst it's down and missing out on the later bids.

P.S. http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/ebay.com.html keeps crashing, probably because so many people are trying to find out what's happening. EDIT: and the link above is now also crashing (but I've still got it open in another window). Lots of unhappy people out there.

Still down for me. From those links it appears only www.ebay.de and possibly www.ebay.au are partially working, but it may only be a matter of time before they crash/grind to a halt as everybody uses them instead.

EDIT: I clicked on the Australian ebay link above and got ebay UK! but still can't get in using their .co.uk address.

Took three attempts but it finally came up for me.

Some strange stuff going on on the internet at the moment - Google, Amazon, Microsoft & Apple have all had significant outages in the last couple of weeks.

There is something BIG happening on the interweb at the moment. Everyone is keeping their mouths shut but something's on.

Even google went down for a few minutes last Friday, and Amazon fell for a few hours recently too. It is expected that smaller sites will experience outages but sites on the scale of google, Amazon and now eBay are built with no 'single point of failure' so they should never keel over, and certainly not within days of each other.

        Facebook was recently hacked. Coincidence?

ebay kept telling me my password was wrong so I changed it (after several attemps) and now they tell me my new password is also incorrect. I give up. If I got in I was hoping to put some low bids in on some expensive stuff ending soon.

I don't think I'd be putting my login credentials into a site that may currently be compromised to be honest.

By 1.00am Friday 23rd in this announcement what UK time would that be? EDIT: Googled it and it's 9:00 am this morning http://www2.ebay.com/aw/announce.shtml
Looks like they've mucked up their sites over the entire world whilst carrying out routine maintenance.
