    It still looking good :)

Mine had started to go a little brown looking at the root end (after being away for a long weekend and not getting watered) .... so cut out the dead looking bits and then they looked a bit bare looking for my likening.

Plus a trip to the GC and brought all the winter bedding, so decided to take them all out and replace. Now should I ever plan ahead, I guess i could always buy more baskets and pot up all the winter baskets in those, leaving the summer ones still out until finished ..... although I think I will just end up with twice as many baskets then as I wont be able to help myself not filling them :)

I have just seen the pic of your basket Pamsdish, it looks lovely still. I think it helps to keep them well watered!
Here is mine from the fron of the house, I find geraniums are long lasting :) although the surfinia petunias are still going strong.

Super basket, Jazmine. They look like 'Million Bells' in there. I love these flowers.
I don't know if any of you have seen the weather forecast, but the first frosts are due during the coming week. Unfortunately, this is likely to finish off most tender plants.

There was a time when Derbyshire's weather was the worst I've ever known, especially the winters. Now, everything has changed. Even in the hills, we rarely see more than a week with snow on the ground, whereas ten years ago it would drift up to ten feet deep or more and cut the town off from the outside world altogether. It's still a wonderful place to live in...:hehe:

Thanks Pamsdish and Strawman. Some of the petunias are really going strong still-it will be a shame to see them finish.
I am not looking forward to the frosts and cold weather...I am a fairweather gardener

I think that it's sad that summertime is over so quickly. I had thought to plant more for flowering during the winter months too, but who cares to sit out in the cold just to try and get some enjoyment out of them. My bones simply won't take that kind of punishment.:old:
Well, I put my two baskets out today, but not either side of the front door, oh no. I've put them out back where they can enjoy the sun and grow a little quicker in readiness for the front of the house. Only then will my friends on GC get to see them. I don't handle failure too well, so I'd rather wait...cluck!...cluck!...cluck!:hehe:
