I was thinking last night, while on here late ..... while us members are on here posting/reading away .... what are the other people in your life doing ? (ie wife, husband, partner, other half) ??

Are we all leading seperate lives or doing things together ?

While I am on here, my other half is usually sat right next to me playing computer games :)

Mrs Pal has spent all afternoon filling in endless scrapbooks about the kiddies she minds, which Ofsted say she must do and which the parents never bother to read anyway, and reports about social interaction and development etc etc etc:....For heavens sake!:flag:

    Good thread :)

I tend to come on in the morning [while having breakfast and coffee] or in the evening when OH and I are tired out :hehe: after all the outside work which we share then I relax by looking at GC to see what everyone has been doing in the garden etc while OH usually chills by watching TV or reading.

In the morning t'other half is still in bed when I'm here. :hehe:

Usually at this time he would be having a snooze but is having a snack and actually watering the garden .... shock horrors ..... so will be having the snooze soon. :lollol:

At night he's on his computer with his various websites/doing computery things when I'm asleep. :skp:

There's plenty of time in between for other things to do together .... :yho:

We've just finished dinner, and we're all having a break before we have homemade meringues, fresh berries and cream for dessert :) Little guys - 3 of them, are doing homework, 17 yr old is doing homework, hubby is planning and marking for classes next week.

Usually while I'm on here, the wife is watching one of any number of mind numbingly soul destroying TV programmes, like Corrie, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, something to do with annoying families that are incompatible being forced to go on holiday together, or annoying low budget fixed formula mass produced 'comedy' usually featuring a rich person, a poor person, one or more neurotic persons and one person who is off the rails (Frasier, Two and Half Men, and such like).

I don't think we're leading separate lives though. There's plenty of time for each other. I think its an important part of any relationship that each partner keeps something of themselves, otherwise you'd lose your own identity and that would be bad for everyone.

I usually use the computer just for a couple of hours in the evening. Inhouse Advisor reads books, books and more books or if she has run out of books, TV, but not the ratings based fodder for the masses.

Interesting topic ... or so I thought anyway lol. Maybe I am just nosey :)

Clueless - am with you on the whole 'soaps' thing. Mindnumbing and far too predictable for my watching! I dont think I have watched a single episode of any of them since leaving home at 17. Our kids however watch them all, record them to watch again and then watch them again in one sitting on the sunday repeats :( Although they are not as bad as all the american rubbish they watch!! Now that is definately mindnumbing !!

Woo - I thought you were actually serious for one minute then lol

    Interesting responses though :)

I do like these sort of threads. I come on here at various times - but if OH is at home, he's either pottering around the house, on his PC upstairs, while I sit downstairs at my laptop (with TV on in background) or he's downstairs multi tasking (on his laptop and watching TV). Funny, I seldom use the PC, preferring the laptop.

We are Corrie addicts, but that's the only one we watch. Right now, settling down to The Antiques Roadshow :) (and waiting for an eBay auction on something I'm selling to finish in 10 mins...)

A very interesting thread Sam......it's something I've never thought of, as I know what others are doing here while I'm on the laptop! Right now though, I'm really not on here, I'm doing my prep work for work tomorrow after last week's conference for training in our new products for the coming academic year :) Really, I am.......oh....that's on the other window! Distraction, distraction!

Sunday night here, Dinner almost ready. OH finishing up his project of a new front door, he put it in.
I am just waiting for the sweet potatoes to be done. Enjoying a martini with the wait.
Saturday night was all football. But I found a movie to enjoy later in the evening.
I do like this thread, thank Sam. Have a good night all what ever you are doing.
