I've just read all the way through this thread and feel so sorry for all that you've been through, kyleleonard.

Nuisance neighbours are far more than 'just a nuisance' - they're a total blight on Society in general. Good to see that you appear to have some light at the end of the tunnel. Hope your parents soon have some decent, hard-working neighbours who just want to live quiet, respectable lives without causing havoc to those around them.

After living and working for 23yrs on the 'Estate from Hell' (in a tied tenancy home/office), when I finally retired I was delighted to get a flat in what seems - in comparison - like 'Heaven on Earth' .................

ps - my other half is also a dedicated 'Breaking Bad' fan :rolleyespink:.

I'm afraid I like my 'crime' to have a gentler degree of violence  - 'Miss Marple', 'Poirot', 'Rosemary & Thyme' and 'Midsomer Murders' are about my taste ;).

Though what happens with a garden rake in 'Rosemary & Thyme' - or a pitchfork in 'Midsomer Murders' - can be quite terrifying :runforhills:.

I have lived this nightmare. I have survived the nightmare: just! Never underestimate the impact of a "noisy neighbour": it ain't no joke! :gaah:

Now, on that note a few things on this thread have raised my brow:-

          1) If you are affected, garner the support of your neighbours.
While this is great advice (in theory!) you need to be aware of the position of your neighbours (renters? Owners?) because, in my experience, my neighbours were very 'supportive' when having a one to one conversation with me ... however, down the line, it transpired, I was the *only* person making official complaints! Which, by the way, was met with derision by the person telling me that: like it was *me* that was the issue here! :nonofinger:
So, why wouldn't my neighbours support me and our social environment/anti-social behaviour? :dunno:
Quite simple when you logic it out: *we* all OWNED our homes ;) and the disclosure rules mean that home owners have to report any controversies. This can impact on the sale of your home. So, as "home owners" the neighbours didn't want that blot on their copybook because it may impact on any future sale of their home :wallbanging: Punish me once; punish me twice!;)

          2) "Vile texts"
Even before you posted the landlords response/accusation, I do have to admit that I could see a counter argument to your repeated texts to the landlord: you could actually have been reported for "harassment". (Don't bite! I'm on your side here!! ;))
While it is a good idea to keep the landlord informed of any grievances, there is a "ways and means" act ;) They can, legitimately, complain that your texts were sent at inappropriate times, were invasive/disruptive (although a counter argument would be, they have the option to turn their phones to "silent" or even turn them off completely - but, that really isn't the issue here) and were tantamount to "harassment".
Modern technology is great: text are immediate. However, when it comes to making complaints, texts are the lowest form of communication because ... they can back fire! I think the "hint" came way back on page 1 when you said they were being ignored? That was the time to change track ;)

          3) Personal Visits to alleged miscreants.

I think (I'll stand corrected but having read the whole thread, I'm reluctant to lose this page to trace back) you stated that you and one other visited the nuisance neighbours for a chat and both of you were 6'2"? Or, at least, you are? :dunno:

On the one hand, trying to deal with something such as this, on a personal level, to address any issues is the standard advice.
However, a counter argument could be: 2 men, of above average height ..... well, it could be construed as ... intimidating?:dunno: Even if there was no "intention" to intimidate, it is the perception of the person on the receiving end which may (or may not) carry more weight. Next time, send the two shortest people you know ;) (and hide behind the bushes ... just in case it goes pear shaped and they need back up ;) )

There were other points, but, I'm getting tired now and can't recall them all

Who do you call? (I have a strong urge to shout: GhostBUSTERS! here, but that is inappropriate :heehee: )
Environmental health is the department who are best equipped to deal with this.
PCSO's could play the role of initial mediation (it's one aspect they are paid for)
Landlord's have their responsibilities laid down, but: forego repeated texts! A text or two is fine, but, if left unanswered, protect yourself and choose a more formal method of communication!
Councillors are another route (but, I think it is poor form to post their mobile number on a public forum. However, I do accept that is my personal view).

Now, as things stand, you suspect they are moving on and you suspect it may be November time. All in all, that sounds like it may well be a very positive thing for you: and I genuinely hope it is!!!

But, you've p'd off the landlord and ... some people can be a bit spiteful ... the landlord chooses the *next* tenants!!! I really hope for you (and your parents sake) that the next tenants will be more socially aware and socially acceptable. Heaven knows you've tried your hardest to make things more bearable for your community!

But, should things go wrong (again!), I do hope that you have gained some knowledge on how to deal with it next time so that you are not given any flack for your approach in trying to deal with it! AKA don't open yourself up for potential counter arguments!

Good luck, Kyle! I truly do understand and I value the (high) price of a good neighbour :grphg:

Update, we have recording equipment in the front bedroom! gentleman from the council who I had been emailing back and forth came round and put it in last Friday, so a few days left yet and we've recorded them 5-6 times already during the early hours!

Get it as close to the wall as possible! Preferably touching, should pick up the vibrations more :)
