I have been buying seeds on Ebay from the USA for about 4 years. Now when I call up the seller from My Favourite Sellers , it shows no items in the shop ?
When I search for the seller "another39again " it still shows no items . This is all on Ebay.co.uk. OK I thought maybe that seller has closed the eBay shop , or does not sell to the UK now . But when I search for the seller on Ebay.com , up it pops with 2000 items for sale , and they sell to Europe ! Now how would anyone in Europe find this shop if it shows no items ? Do I need to set a flag somewhere to access USA sellers?

    TIA

There used to be a setting to include international sellers. I am on my phone at the minute, I will look later and feet back to you. I think it is in settings if you want to have a look yourself.

If you run a search there will be a panel on the left allowing you to choose various sorting options. Towards the bottom it will say "Item location". If you pick the "worldwide" option hopefully you will see US goods. You could refine it a bit by using "distance from your postcode" option.

I usually keep mine on "in UK only" as otherwise I get my search clogged up with cheap far Eastern clothes on Ebay.co.uk. Ebay likes to default to "on Ebay UK" for reasons of their own.

If you use the advanced button next to the search that madahhlia mentioned it is about 3 or 4 from the bottom of the page.

That is very strange Harry, I get the same as you, i.e. can only find items in that shop if I go in via ebay.com

As others have suggested it must be something to do with settings but I can't find anything that sets ebay shops to worldwide. I've found a worldwide setting for ordinary searches for items but that doesn't find anything that "another39again" is selling.

It's a complete mystery to me, I suspect ebay's american servers are not in sync with the .co.uk hosted ones, but how you'd prove that I don't know :gaah:

          Thanks all for the advice....
I have just completed a test search which may interest the Canna growers on here.
If I put a simple search for "Canna Seeds" on Ebay.com
          Worldwide 177 items
          USA 58 items

          Same search on Ebay.co.uk
          Worldwide Only 129 items
I could see items from Thailand , Netherlands but nothing in the USA !
So it seems that the USA is not part of our Ebay world, even though their items say they will ship to Europe
I'll email the Ebay help desk , I may get an answer...watch this space.

Is it anything to do with regulations about importing plant material from USA to UK? Could you not just buy on the .com site? The price will automatically translate from $ to £.

I have no problem buying on the .com site . But it is only by chance that I found that the Worldwide search does not include the USA for some reason. Most USA seed sites state the regulations that they cant post some seeds to Australia or they won't mail to Italy as the postal system is unreliable, the UK doesn't seem to have any exclusions I know of for small seed packets.

Ebay Uk has several issues at the moment, seems to be after the recent site maintenance. Not able to leave feedback, dropdown menus not working Etc.
Lots of disgruntled users at the moment.

Thanks JazzSi , I may leave my little problem for a few days until Ebay gets things sorted.

Harry, I suddenly remembered about Alice Harris's karchesky canna (ebay id: "beloved1****") and her shop also suffers from the same problem. On ebay UK the shop shows just two items, (both books, ), however the USA .com ebay site lists 65 items (Canna seeds and plants). I have bought from her in the past so this is definitely a new problem.

Just completed a live chat with Ebay help desk , explaining the problem . The answer is , if you would like to view seeds etc from the USA you now need to search on eBay.com ( not eBay.co.uk )
So I am now not so sure what a "worldwide" search on eBay actually is now.
I'll reference this little gem on information on the main gardening forum.

I'm having the same trouble, even through Ebay.com.
                So I get around it like this;

Starting here I want to visit their shop..............
Sweet Appleberry Billardiera scandens Seed eBay.jpg

The usual way would be to click on this area...................
Sweet Appleberry Billardiera scandens Seed eBay1.jpg
                Which takes me to this....................
items in Australiana Plants Seed store on eBay 3.jpg

Even on Ebay.com I get this...................
items in Australiana Plants Seed store on eBay 4.jpg

So halfway down the page is the Autiva box..............
Sweet Appleberry Billardiera scandens Seed eBay5.jpg

Click the link on the bottom right......................

Good idea Keith, but I can't duplicate what you have done. For some reason I'm not seeing the Auctiva box on my PC. Maybe I've got a blocker preventing it coming up. I'm sure I've seen it in the past, will have to investigate when I have a bit more time.
