I Know where your coming from Rodders, Ive had to force myself into flying over the years as I hate to feel enclosed. Im getting better.:thmb:

I have 2 brandies on the flight and it helps me chill, plus I like to be in a window seat as it helps me to feel more in control.:p

I suppose we all have different ideas as to feeling more comfortable while traveling. Ive never traveled underground but I know where you are coming from.:skp:

I think it is easier for the new generation as they seem to be able to afford to travel abroad at a lot younger age than we did, so it comes more natural to them .:D 02

Do you mean the front window? :hehe:

Back in the old days Fred Pontin, who owned Pontin's holidays, had hotels and camps in different parts of the world but hated flying. He only managed it by having a 'couple' of drinks. If it helps, do it :thumb:

    Some great posts here :gnthb:

My sister hates flying but got married in St.Lucia but she always has a drink....

O2 I think you are right with what you say - my 23 year old son has been to many places-he thinks nothing of travelling.
My OH has done the tunnel, he has flown and I feel I am holding him back but I am far more confident now!
I always have my Bach Resue Remedy handy too.

Do you all HATE your passport photos?? :yho:

Mr Kandy has never flown,{me once over to Jersey} He has work mates or go over to America each year and who are not keen on flying and only do it to see the country they are visiting.Because they have now told him that they don't like the experience of the flight then that has put him off even more. His mother was terrified of most forms of transport and detested being a car passenger when it was dark and Mr K has now decided that apart from cars, trains, and the Isle Of Wight ferry he is never going to go on any other form of transport:( I think they turn inot their parents when they get :old:er:D

I detest flying, not because I'm scared of it (love the take off and landing in particular) but because I hate being treated like cattle, herded from one spot to the next, made to queue, having to turn up at the airport several hours beforehand and then hang around in a glorified shopping centre (airport!).

So I guess a trip to New Zealand would be out of the question then Kandy?

Sussexgardener it was the taking off and the landing that i didn't like and the bit in the middle because we had bad weather plus i had picked up a bug at the Hotel so was feeling quiet rough at the time.:(

I would love to go to NZ and Australia,in fact I wanted to Emigrate to NZ when we got married but Mr K wanted to stay here because of his family and after hearing from friends of the white knuckle rides they have had on occassions on flights it has made things worse.:(

He has been over to the Isles Of Scilly by helicopter but that was in the eighties and I managed to get him on the Hydrafoil over to the Isle Of Man once but that is about it,and he certainly wouldn't want to have to keep queuing up and waiting in airport lounges for hours as that would make the problem worse especially if they all went on strike as well:D and then when he was away he would be worried about earthquakes, bombs and forest fires etc:p

I don't bother looking at those sort of things because we were told we would get a slapped wrist for talking about the unmentionables,so to me they no longer exsist:flag::D

Something spooky I have found though that when I have spoken about things by email to my friends and then go to my BT Yahoo site later on or the next day to check for spam to be deleted, keys words that were in the emails I have sent show up in the spam emails.:scratch:It gives me the creeps because it makes me think that someone somewhere seems to know what we are talking about:euw::confsd::p

I thought I was just twenty-one when I got my first passport twelve years ago, then I discovered that I was a damned sight older! The photo was too realistic for my liking..:lollol:

Kandy, going in a helicopter would be the most scary for me I think :D I have to say I am tempted to fly to Cornwall, 8 hours in a car is not nice.

The form has been filled in, signed etc so I am off to post it today, paying the extra for the P.O to check it for me. My friend signed in for me last night - I had to walk over twice because I forgot something then I had to ring OH to walk over with my photo to be signed on the back.
    Dohhhhhhh :hehe:
