    Hi, everyone

I suppose this is a FAQ but what's the best weedkiller to clear a lawn of dandelion and other weeds and also what's the best killer to completely zap flower beds of weeds
so that next spring I can start again. Some beds I intend to cover with bark or something next year so I don't even require the soil to produce anything in those beds.

I have been digging the weeds out each week but they return of course and I am now running out of energy (and willpower, and not as young as I used to be as they say) so some chemical help is required!

The house was previously owned by an old couple who just left it to its own devices so you can imagine the garden is pretty grim. (If I had the cash I'd "buy in" some help!!)

    Any advice gratefully accepted.

    Regards.

For anything in lawns use Verdone Extra, if you're not bothered about what gets killed use Roundup (or similar)

Anything whose active ingredient is Glyphosate is a good, relatively eco-friendly, non-residual herbicide that kills anything that grows. I used Round-Up to blitz my bindweed infested flower beds last year. I found it very effective, and because it leaves no residue you can safely re-plant stuff very soon after clearing an area.

Don't use glyphosate on the lawn though, unless you like plain brown lawns. Glyphosate is indiscrimate, it will make short work of grass.

Round up tends to be the one most people here use. I take it you are not a number? lol Big Prisoner fan myself.
