I have a nice eucalyptus tree in my garden.... had it for a few years now ( around 11/12) and it is thriving.... we have had to trim it a couple of times as they certainly grow fast - but it is growing well and healthily .... except that the trunk is peeling almost all the way down .... is this normal ? .... Yes, that's what I love about them.
Another quick question - Can I cut it now or is it best to wait until Feb/March? It's looking a bit top heavy in my opinion.

We usually give ours 'a haircut' in the Autumn, don't know if this is correct or not, but has never harmed it in all these years .... Val

You can cut it back as hard as you like October/November without too much trouble.:gnthb:

You don't mention it, Val, but do you know which kind you have, and how tall is it after all these years?

Had it so long don't know what kind it is ! ... We have clipped it every year otherwise it would be ginormous !! Grows very quickly and is thriving .. we usually clip it when it is about level with our bedroom window but this year it is a little taller so will have to get our son over to get up the ladder and cut it ....

They are all quiet tolerant of pruning, even severely, but a consideration is the all important visual aspect. Does it disfigure the tree? and make it look stunted etc..

Another tree question. Hope someone can answer.....

The Indian Bean tree - some have beans and some do not. Is it because of trees being either male or female, I wonder??
