I want to propgate my Hollyhock - Alcea Rosea "Charter's Double".

From what I can gather this is a perennial kind, but you are supposed to treat it as an annual because of the risk of rust.

Thing is, my plant has had rust pretty much all year, but still looks great. I've just managed the rust by removing the worst leaves and spraying.

Any advice? Can I divide it like other perennials after flowering, and simply manage the rust problem again next year?

I wouldn't even try!.. I don't think they would survive and tend to be short lived anyway!

Grow new from seed.... either collect your own... which isn't guarenteed they'd come true... or Chiltern seeds do them... www.chilternseeds.co.uk
